First-Time Buyer Mortgages
From your first questions to getting the keys
1. Understand your budget
We’ll talk through your income, outgoings and deposit to help you understand what you could borrow and what the monthly payments could look like. We’ll also discuss the other costs of buying, so you can plan your budget properly.
2. Get an agreement in principle
When you’re ready, we can help arrange an agreement in principle. This gives an indication of what a lender may be willing to lend, helping you look for your first home with more confidence and show estate agents you’re a serious buyer. It isn’t a mortgage offer; a full application and checks on you and the property are still needed.
3. Find your home and arrange the mortgage
Once you’ve had an offer accepted, we’ll review the mortgage options and recommend one suited to your circumstances. We’ll handle the application, help with the paperwork and keep you updated as it progresses.
4. Bring everything together
Our help goes beyond the mortgage. We can help you find a solicitor, explain your survey options and help you arrange a survey if needed. We’ll also discuss buildings and contents insurance, alongside cover to help protect you, your income and your home. We’ll stay in touch as your purchase moves towards completion.
